Marketing your business, drawing in new customers and turning them into paying clients can be DAUNTING! Trust us, we know. As a small business owner you might not be all knowing and understanding what a sales funnel is can transform how you retain and build relationships with your customers.
A sales funnel resembles what might look like a real one, starting out broad and narrowing it down until you have a loyal customer. Sales funnels run through a process of four steps and we’ll take you through that here!
Awareness
Seeing an ad on Facebook, another client sharing their experience, and seeing you on the instagram explore page are all a part of the awareness stage. Being the broadest piece of the process, appealing to your ideal customer in this stage is crucial! If you can draw them in with valuable content and products that fulfill their needs, they are one step closer to becoming a customer.
Interest
If they make it past the awareness stage, and they’re interested in you, now have to prove your worth! This is most commonly done through an emailing list. (Learn about that HERE) Sharing stories about your business and knowledge that you bring to your industry can create a connection between your business and the potential customer. Creating the WHY through your stories or advertisements here are so important!
Decision
You’ve told your story, you’ve got them hooked, all that’s left is to get them to decide if they want to become a customer. Since you’ve already shared your story, this stage can be enhanced with reviews from happy customers and really solidify their choice to invest in you!
Action
The final stage of the funnel is action. A potential customer, turns into a paying one. (WOOHOO!) Not every person you draw in during the awareness stage will make it to action, and that’s alright! If you create those stories and work really hard on meaningful implementation of the first three steps you can hopefully bring more customers to the final stage. It might not be easy but if you have an understanding of how it works, and how to make it work for you, it’ll definitely pay off!
